What Trim Involves
Wainscoting, panelling and accent walls
Panelled wainscoting, board and batten, shiplap and slat feature walls add depth and texture. These are laid out to the room so panels land symmetrically instead of finishing on an awkward sliver at one end.
Where trim work is won or lost
The difference shows in the details: mitres that close tight, inside corners coped rather than butted, nail holes filled and sanded, and joints caulked so nothing opens up when the timber moves with the seasons.
